Orientation Days

Compass

Overview of Orientation Days

As we have shared, we will be conducting our orientations in a different way than we have in the past. Seniors will attend in 30 minute increments from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Students in grades 4 through 11 will attend in 30 minute increments from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2020. It is imperative that students attend at their assigned time so that we can maintain distancing and follow temperature check protocols.  Assigned times will be provided directly to families.

Uniform and grooming policies are outlined on pages 34 – 39 of the Handbook. Uniform and grooming policies will be enforced beginning with the August 5th and 6th orientation days.  Those in violation of uniform and grooming policies will not be allowed to take school ID pictures and will receive disciplinary consequences. Students deemed by school administrators to be in extreme violation of uniform and grooming policies will be sent home.

Please help your child to begin the school year on a positive note in this regard.  Boys should pay particular attention to policies regarding hair length and height, and to being clean-shaven.  Girls should take special note of uniform skirt and shorts length.  All students should have the appropriate style of all-black shoes.

Procedures for morning arrival detailed in the return plan will be followed. Mask usage will be enforced.

  • All drivers will enter through the parent car line entrance on DeLaSalle Drive. Similar to procedures used for summer workouts, any individual intending to exit the vehicle must have their temperature checked at the designated checkpoint.
  • Student drivers will proceed to the student parking lot, park, exit their vehicles, and begin completing the checklist below.
  • Younger students will exit the vehicle immediately and proceed to their classrooms to drop off supplies. Adult drivers may then park in the gravel area in front of the gym to wait inside their vehicles for their students to complete the checklist. Please do not park in car line or in front of the gym.
