Welcome, Jenny Schopp!
We would like to welcome CHS Alumna Jenny Freyou Schopp (Class of ’93) to the Catholic High Advisory Council.
Jenny is married to Jonathan Schopp, and they have three children: Meyer (6th grade), Morgan (4th grade), and future panther Madison (3rd grade). Jenny is a nurse anesthetist working part-time in New Iberia at One Day Surgery. She has previously been an active member and officer in New Iberia’s women’s civic organization Les Jeunes Amies as well as a former PTO officer at St. Edward School. She helped facilitate the first electronic format for St. Edward School’s Monday Memos, their PTO’s Panda Express, and also the new Catholic Corner for St. Edward’s Parents’ Ministry. She was one of the founders of SES Parents’ Ministry that included organizing mission nights, family Adorations, Traveling Katies, parent rosaries, and the group’s Facebook page. She has also volunteered in many other roles at SES including helping out in morning carline and in the AR lab.
Jenny was a 2017 cast member of CHS’ Dancing With The Stars. She was an active volunteer for CHS Parents’ Ministry and also volunteered on CHS’ Centennial Campaign long-range planning committee.
Jenny and her husband, Jonathan, are active members of their church parish at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Broussard with Jenny specifically co-leading a small women’s prayer group and serving as a member of the Parish’s Hospitality Committee that includes decorating the church for holidays and church functions. She also was part of the committee that reached out to fellow parishioners for the 2018 Diocese of Lafayette Centennial Campaign.
In addition, Jenny volunteers for the local annual Ush One See race that raises money for research of a cure for Usher’s Syndrome, in addition to volunteering and supporting local grief support group Red Bird Ministries.
In her free time, Jenny enjoys playing tennis and bringing her three children to and from their after school activities of dancing, piano, golf, and tennis!
Now that the Schopps have two panthers at CHS and one on the way next year, Jenny is excited to be more actively involved at Catholic High School!
