Fourth Quarter: Finish Strong

Dear CHS Parents,
We are well into the fourth quarter and “Spring Fever” has set in with our students at every grade level.  With spring comes a number of activities that bring the school to life during the school day and afterward. While this is a great time for spirit and community, it can also be a hard time to focus on instruction, projects, homework, and following school rules.  The faculty and administration of Catholic High want to ask your help to finish the school year strong!  Particularly, we are reminding parents that Catholic High teachers will be using every instructional minute through the very last day of classes.  There will not be a slowing down in this regard, simply because the end of the school year is near. Additionally, students will not be allowed to slide on rules and procedures because there are not many weeks of this school year remaining.
If you have not read the Handbook in a while, please do so.  It is posted on our website, and can be accessed here. It is in everyone’s best interest to know what is expected of students at all grade levels.  Many of the students are struggling to follow rules and procedures that should be part of their daily routine at this point.  Please remind your children about grooming and uniform rules, policies governing Chromebook use, and remembering their ID and the procedures in place for when they forget their ID.  Also, please emphasize to your children that Catholic High strives to be a Christ-centered school community, and as such, there is no place for teasing, name-calling, deliberate unkindness, academic dishonesty, or profanity. And particularly for our older students, a reminder about the Personal Conduct Policy may be necessary.  This policy governs student behavior during the school day as well as after school, both on campus and away from campus, during the school year, and even over holidays and in the summer.
Like you and the students, we are looking forward to a joyous Easter holiday, and not long after, a fun, relaxing, and rejuvenating summer.
Sincerely,

Shannon H. Aucoin, M. Ed.
