Exam Week Schedule
It amazes me that we are at the end of 2018! It has been a great year and a very busy semester. This email will give you some information for the even busier week ahead and beyond! Please let me know if I skipped something or if you have any questions.
Preparing for Exams–Beginning this week, teachers in grades 6-12 will be reviewing for exams! All students have already received an exam review sheet, either digital or hard copy. This may have specific questions or areas to review for the exam, or it may have more of a format of what to expect. If students have not received their exam guide, please tell them to ask their teachers about it this week. Our 6th graders are new to the exam process, and freshmen are new to exams that are a larger part of the semester total grade; therefore, their teachers are working closely with these students to help them prepare. During exam week, teachers will be at school at 8:15 for any help that students may need. Our library will be open at 8:00 on exam days for students who want a quiet place to study.
Exams for Enrichment and MS PE–Regarding exams for 6-8 grade class that meet in our enrichment rotation – All students will take their PE exams on the regular exam days. In lieu of a formal exam, enrichment teachers have assigned culminating activities/assessments/projects, etc.
Exam Schedule–Please check the CHS calendar for specific exam times. Here is an overview:
Monday, December 17–Dead Day is regular take-in time with a 12:30 dismissal and lunch for all grades.
Tuesday through Thursday, December 18-20–We begin at 8:50 and end at 12:30 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Lunch will be served for grades 4-8 during these three days.
Friday, December 21–We begin at 8:50 and dismiss at 10:30. For our high school zero hour courses, the exam will be given at 7:00 until 8:30.
If a high school student has an “off period” due to a zero hour class or a dual enrollment online elective, the student does not need to report to school during that period; however, the student must sign in and sign out in the high school office. Of course, we recommend that the student stays at school to study!
Bus Service on Exam Days–Buses will run on Monday, December 17 through Thursday, December 20 at regular AM time and for 12:30 dismissal. All parents of elementary students that must ride a bus on exam days should arrange for before school care. Before school care and after school care will be available through Mrs. Anna Davis at 337-380-2090. On Friday, December 21, there will be no bus service at all that day.
Make-up Exams–Make-Up exams will be administered beginning on Monday, January 7 at 12:30. Students may take more than one exam that day if needed. Students who need to take a make-up exam should report to the guidance department no later than 12:30 with all required materials. No uniform is required.
