After School Transportation (busses, carline, and walkers) and Supervision
After School Supervision
Students must be picked up after school no later than 3:30 p.m. After this time, the duty teacher will walk the student to after school care, and parents may pick students up in the aftercare room. Parents will be billed on an hourly basis for this service. This policy is implemented for the safety of your child/children.
Teachers are on duty until 3:30 p.m., and offices close at 3:30 p.m. Parents are reminded that there is no supervision of students on school grounds before 7:15 a.m. and after 3:30 p.m., other than for school activities directed by Catholic High personnel.
For information concerning buses, please contact the Iberia Parish Transportation Supervisor at
365-2341, extension 120. School buses will enter the Catholic High School campus at the light on
Admiral Doyle Drive at Bank Street and proceed to the bus canopy and exit the same way.
Students who will be leaving campus on foot (including walking to area businesses) must have
a note on file granting us permission to allow your child to leave school unsupervised. Fourth and fifth
graders may only leave if accompanied by an older student, who must be specified in the written
permission slip. Please note: Once students leave campus, they will not be allowed to return.
Please be aware that de La Salle Drive is a one way street (south Center street to Admiral Doyle Drive) in the morning.
Elementary and Middle School student drop-offs should enter through the gate nearest the elementary playground and drop off students near the elementary building in the designated area. Please obey the directions of the duty teacher, and use extreme caution during this process.
Parents dropping off High School students and students that drive to school should use the center gate of the parking lot. No student should be dropped off until reaching the high school building. Please refrain from allowing your child to exit the car in front of the gym/library. Student safety and a smooth traffic flow depend upon the cooperation of all drivers.
Starting at 8 am and lasting until 2:30 pm the elementary entrance gate, the center entrance gate that leads into the student parking lot and the gate located near the Administration building will be closed. Parents needing to visit the elementary, middle or high school offices will have to enter through the gate nearest the high school building. The school’s goal is to improve upon student safety and to increase the security of the school grounds.
Parents must not drop off or pick up children in the area of the Administrative Offices or bus loop (Bank Street entrance). Parents are asked to be conscious of not blocking traffic in driving lanes or parking lots and to respect nearby residential property.
