Fête-Dieu du Vermilion
Earlier this week, you received an email from Father Albert Alexander about a very rare opportunity: Fête-Dieu du Vermilion. This Centennial Eucharistic Procession along Bayou Vermilion will be held on August 15, 2018. It begins at 8 a.m. with Mass of the Feast of the Assumption in French at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville, celebrated by Bishop Glen Provost of the Diocese of Lake Charles and concludes with a Celebration of the Mass of the Assumption by Bishop Douglas Deshotel at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist at 5:30 p.m.
Pope Francis has granted a Plenary Indulgence for all those who participate in one of the events of Fête-Dieu du Vermilion on August 15. We are offering the opportunity for all students to participate.
