Guatemalan Exchange Student Program

 In Academics, News

Attention ALL Catholic High families!

Would you like to open your home to a student from a Catholic school in Guatemala? Catholic High is once again participating in a program where we will welcome students from Guatemala in grades 6-12 to spend two months immersed in the life of a Catholic High student. The “Guats,” as they are affectionately referred to, will arrive on Saturday, October 21, and they will leave just before our students begin preparing for midterm exams. The Guatemalan students have been preparing for their trip to the United States for more than 6 months. They have been learning about our culture and are very excited to work on improving their English speaking skills.

At this point in time, the organization, unifiedjourneys.org, is still looking for several host families. Please prayerfully consider this wonderful cultural opportunity! There are meetings this week for prospective host families where many of your questions can be answered. Mrs. Laura LaBiche, Catholic High’s Spanish teacher, can also answer any questions you have. Please contact her (llabiche@chspanthers.com) for meeting dates and times, as well as any questions you might have about hosting a Guatemalan student.
