School Update
As of 6:30 PM Monday, there has been no serious damage to the school. However, there is still no power, and at this time we are uncertain as to when it will be restored. There will be no school on Wednesday.
For all who are able, we will begin clean up on campus at 9 AM Wednesday. Any assistance is most appreciated.
Subscribing to CNotes
Now that you've become familiar with our CNotes blog, you might find it easier to subscribe to it rather than clicking links to visit. As promised, the news will come directly to you in the way you choose, rather than you having to go looking for it.
Parent Contact Information
With hurricane season upon us, it is a good time to remind everyone in our Catholic High community how important it is that we maintain up-to-date contact information. In the event of an emergency, or an evacuation, we rely heavily on technology such as e-mail and phones to keep in touch with our families.
Please take a few minutes to log in to ParentsWeb, click on Family Demographics, and verify your email addresses and phone numbers. If you find any discrepancies, email the corrections to renweb@chspanthers.com as soon as possible. If you are not set up to log in to ParentsWeb yet, you can find instructions here.
I am sending a test email message today through RenWeb to all our families. There is no need to reply if you receive the message. If, however, you read this post and DO NOT receive the message, there are two things you can check:
1) Verify your contact information on ParentsWeb as described above.
2) Check with your business and/or service provider to ensure that a spam filter is not blocking our messages. You will need to allow communications from the renweb.com and chspanthers.com domains.
As always, feel free to email me (you can use the link above) with any questions you may have.
Going Green
This blog is just one example of our efforts to minimize Catholic High’s eco-footprint while maintaining communication with our families. There are many ways we can employ technology to reduce waste. With this in mind, I’d like to remind all of our families of a few no-cost opportunities to aid us in this endeavor and place more technology in students’ hands.
Progressive Education
Buzz words such as "authentic," "21st century skills," and "global economy" abound in recent issues of educational journals.
