Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding Scholarship

Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, Workforce Training and Development has established a scholarship program to assist local high school students in achieving their dream and goal expectations through continued education in college or vocational-technical school programs. To be eligible for this scholarship applicants must be high school seniors seeking to enter an undergraduate program at an accredited Community or Technical College(in Louisiana only). Applicants, if selected, will receive a $1,000.00 -$1,500.00 award for their undergraduate studies. Awards may only be used for tuition, books, and/or lab fees.

Southern University Alumni Federation

The Southern University Alumni Federation Scholarship Committee will award a maximum of $500.00 to any graduating senior from Iberia Parish. Applicants must be a high school graduating senior enrolling in the university as a full-time student this fall with plans to pursue a degreed course of study. Applicants must also have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and a composite ACT score of 20 to apply for this scholarship.
Applicants must send a typed application form along with a transcript, two letters of recommendation and a letter of application addressed to the SUAF Scholarship Committee. Letter of application must include an explanation of goals, aspirations, and financial assistance needs. CALLING ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN DRIVERS EDUCATION

Are you looking for the perfect Easter gift for your teenager. Ascension Driving School is offering a class here at Catholic High on March 20, 21, 27, 28. The 30 hr. classroom instruction/8 hour driving program, open to any student who will be 15 by July 1, 2010, will be taught by a Louisiana state certified instructor. A $50.00 refundable deposit is required to reserve your seat in the class. Total cost for the class is $400.00. Registration forms are available in your Catholic High Guidance Department or you may enroll on-line at ascensiondrivingacademy.com. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR JEANERETTE RESIDENTS:

The “Entre Nous Of Jeanerette College Scholarship” is one offered only to students currently residing in Jeanerette, La. This is a two-part scholarship with $250 awarded in July/August for the fall semester and $250 awarded in December/January for the spring semester. Eligible candidates cannot be the children or grandchildren of Entre Nous members(current or former), or possess membership status themselves. In order to qualify for consideration, students must also have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and have a 70544 zip code. In applying for this scholarship, a completed application packet, school transcript, resume, two letters of recommendation, and one-page statement of recommendation must be submitted. Application packets may be picked up by qualifying students from Jeanerette in the Catholic High Guidance Office.

Sheriff's Scholarship Program

The Louisiana Sheriff's Scholarship Program will award a maximum of $500.00 to graduating seniors from parishes where the Sheriff is an afflilate of the Honorary Membership Program. Applicants must be permanent residents of Louisiana, scholarships must be utilized in the pursuit of higher education within Louisiana and recipients must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate students. There are no restrictions on the way recipients actually spend scholarship awards.

Completed applications must be submitted to the Sheriff of the parish of the applicant's permanent Louisiana residence by April 1st. All scholarship winners will be announced by May 1, 2010.
