CALLING ALL PARENTS...PARENT CLUB MEETING THIS WEEK

Please make every effort to attend this Wednesday's Parent Club meeting which will be held in the library at 6 p.m. Your input and help are needed to make the activities and events scheduled for this spring a success! You will also hear about some of the programs and innovations that the proceeds from this year's Academic Raffle have, or will, fund!

If you are unable to attend but would like to receive a recap of the meeting and/or would like to find out the areas in which you can be involved, drop President Jeanne Cutrera an e-mail at jcutrera@cox.net or give Jamie Nelson-Hebert a call in the Development Office

STREVA Relays Taking Place This Friday

Each year, Catholic High's track and field team hosts one of the premier track and field meets in the area. Our friends at STREVA Distributing sponsor the meet which continues to grow. The STREVA Relays will be held this Friday on our campus and will see athletes from 14 schools from throughout the area come out to compete in a number of different events. We encourage you to attend if you're in the market for a great family outing. This is a great time for our younger students to get excited about the possiblity of becoming a Catholic High track and field competitor! Did you realize that Catholic High's Morgann Leleux holds the national record for pole vaulting? Wouldn't some of our elementary students love to be able to dream of one day holding a national record?

The volunteer force required for an event such as the STREVA Relays is large. At present, we are looking for seven more volunteers to work field events from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. If you would like to help out, please contact Coach Andrea Broussard at abroussard@chspanthers.com or Athletic Director, Jeri Beck at jbeck@chspanthers.com.

See you out at Panther Stadium on Friday!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW AND PULL OUT THE '80'S MEMORABILIA

On Saturday, April 24th, all Catholic High parents, alumni, and friends have the opportunity to celebrate the end of the school year in the same way our students do…PROM TIME! On Friday the 23rd, our juniors and seniors will be enjoying their prom. We feel that parents have just as much to celebrate so we are going to “piggy back” with our students, share prom decoration expense, and enjoy a “Flashback to the ‘80’s” PARENTS PROM! For $50.00, you have a fun-filled night of live music by the ‘80’s tribute band, “FLASHBACK,” at one of the favorite ‘80’s prom and party spots – Club La Louisiane! We will provide all the food and drink you want and have our very own faculty and staff celebrity waiters/waitresses ready to serve you. Add a silent auction and two chances at winning our PAC Prizes (A weekend in New Orleans sponsored by Community First Bank, a signed/numbered George Rodrigue limited edition print sponsored by IBERIA Bank, or a beautiful pendant from Allain’s Jewelry) and what more can you ask for? YES…YOU’VE GOT IT…A SPOT ON THE PROM COURT! On April 1st, the names of five females and five males will be drawn from our ticket list. Those people will be notified that they have been named to the 2010 Prom Court. On the night of the prom, popular vote will determine who will be crowned King and Queen of the Prom. Now, can you think of a better way to spend a Saturday night?

By now you have received your annual giving campaign literature. On the detachable portion of the brochure is an area denoting purchase of tickets for the “Flashback to the ‘80’s.” Complete that portion, detach and return it to the Development Office. If you prefer, just send a check for the number of tickets you would like to purchase, place it in an envelope, and mark it to my attention in the Development Office. Not only will you be guaranteeing yourself a fabulously fun evening but you will also be helping to “Bridge the Gap” between the cost of tuition at Catholic High and the actual cost of an education here at Catholic High. The annual giving campaign is the school’s effort to keep your tuition affordable. Remember, your donation to the annual giving campaign is tax-deductible!

Stay tuned for more details on the “Flashback to the ‘80’s!” Our Parents Club will be helping in the promotion of the event so you will be hearing a great deal about it in the next six weeks! In the meantime, start calling your friends to invite them to join you for this great blast to the past and don’t forget to pull out some of those old photos of what you or your friends wore to prom…you want to be sure to dress for the occasion! Of course, dressy casual will be the order of the day if you choose not to dive into closets and attics and to find ‘80’s attire.
